30th Year Anniversary

Oromia State University, which began celebrating its 30th anniversary on December 03, 2025, concluded the celebration today, December, 2025, in a warm and dignified ceremony attended by high-level guests, including the Head of the Office of the President of the Oromia Regional State Government, Dr. Abdulaaziz Dawud, presidents of various Federal universities; and Ambassadors to Ethiopia from several countries.

The three-day celebration featured a photo exhibition, sports competitions, a panel discussion, and the establishment of the alumni association. Today’s event opened with a blessing from elders, after which the President of OSU, HE Dr. Geremu Huluka, extended a welcoming message, expressing appreciation for the guests’ presence and their willingness to celebrate together. Dr. Geremew further reiterated that the University’s foundation has grown from seeds planted in the fertile support of the Oromo people and the Oromia Regional State Government and has now reached a visible stage of development.

The Head of the Office of the President of the Oromia Regional State Government, Dr. Abdulaziz Dawud, delivered congratulatory remarks, highlighting the major achievements of OSU to date and outlining priority tasks the University should continue to pursue in the future.

Overall, the concluding ceremony of OSU’s 30th anniversary was peacefully attended by federal delegates, officials from the Oromia Regional State, presidents of federal universities, the President and Deputy President of the Amhara State University, and Ambassadors from various countries.
