School of Accounting and Tax Administration
Following structural change of the university, the department of Accounting and Public Finance, now the School of accounting and Tax Administration was established in the year 2018 G.C. having its own goals, objectives, and strategies through which the mission and vision of the university can be achieved. The school of accounting and tax administration consists of two departments; Accounting and Public Finance (ACPF) and Procurement and Supply chain management (PSCM).
The school takes the lion share of the university with regard to the number of students, generating internal revenue, and number of academic staffs.
Mission, Vision and Strategic Goals
The school’s mission is building the capacity of Oromia regional state in education, training and research in Accounting and tax administration and public financial management. It also strives to become a well distinguished institute in East Africa by contributing to the regional as well as national development and scientific knowledge, and through conducting high standard and international research and community services.
The school aspires to be a center of excellence in higher education, through producing researchers, policy makers, managers, administrators and practitioners through trainings and conducting quality researches.
The overall strategic goal of the school is to contribute to the transformation and prosperity of the region’s accounting, public financial management and national development as well, through producing high-levels professionals and manpower in the region in particular and in Ethiopia in general.
The School is currently running 2 Undergraduate Programs and 1 Post Graduate Program in the area of commerce, and 6,000 students are enrolled both in the undergraduate and post graduate programs in different centers of the university. The under graduate programs are offered in regular, extension, and distance modes of delivery and the post graduate program is offered in regular and extension modes only.
The intensified pressure on the regional government necessitated scaling up the College into University level so as to meet the desperate needs for competent public servants, leaders and transformed institutions that can serve the interest of the public,
Hence, the school is changed in to College of Finance and Management Studies and it includes;
